I have one of their modules (I forget which model, I think the 320),
and am happy with it.  I felt bad spending so much on cheap chip on a
cheap PCB, but it's probably cost savings over burning up a bunch of
the things trying to solder SMT.  They're relatively sensitive, not
too jittery, and trivial to interface to arduino (yay for on-chip
ADCs).

How about a (relatively) cheap DIY pressure sensor?  dstaff mentioned
something like this to me recently, but I haven't had time to play
with it yet:
