[Noisebridge-discuss] 224 12th

I'd like to see this myself. I am not sure I can get back to the city
in time to see it, but I'd like to if I can.

I do think it's useful for the people showing us to know that we're
already in negotiations for a different space. Right now, the
momentum has built and membership is largely set on the other space.
It worries me that something could easily happen with it, such as the
fire marshal declaring it unsafe, that would prevent us from moving in
there. I also think that it gives us leverage for negotiation if we
have the ability to walk out on them without seriously losing out.
It's great to have a backup plan.

I do worry that if we push too hard for a space that's not the one we
have already discussed, we'll become divided and unable to make a
decision. I think this is something most members also fear. I
suspect the only reason we didn't get the "shiny happy gulag" space is
that we had 2 competing spaces that each had advantages and we
couldn't come to a consensus on one over the other. By focusing on
one space at a time, it's much easier to get a "yea" decision for one.

That being said, I don't agree with aestetix's assessment of the
situation. But we're all entitled to our own opinions. I do wish you
hadn't resigned your membership, as I consider you to be a valuable
contributor, but I understand the need to stay true to ones self.
