[Noisebridge-discuss] any interest in a one-time guns and bullets experience

the format, as i imagine it, would begin with
talking about legal and basic safety, then present
ammo but no guns.
if live ammo, then rounds would be presented
in a cluster such that no one could take a round
(e.g. in plastic see-through tape) for discussion.
if hands-on, then one round would make the
rounds and upon its return a different round
would circulate.

after all the rounds were back in their locked
ammo box, the guns would be unlocked, presented
as a group, then circulated one by one, the next
circulating only after the first was safely back
in place.

as things were presented, terms would get
trotted out (this is a muzzle, barrel, chamber...).

properly managed, no one would be able to put
a round in a gun, and there'd be no problem with
accidental, negligent, or criminal discharge
(the three categories that the law may apply to
the event that a gun would go off in an
inappropriate place).
proper management is mainly a matter of being
sure every thing that's circulated remains always
in view of the group.
