For really big jobs, community, and lots of experienced folks, go to the

It's really close to Noisebridge  (on Alabama between 18th and 19th), I even
borrowed their big bike cart for a quick ride to noisebridge and back one
night.

Other than mentioning that, I am all for obtaining/making a set of tools and
a bike stand to make repairs at Noisebridge.
