There might be a professional outfit nearby that we could rent or hire
to check it out... but my google-fu seems to be failing me for finding
one. http://hcienv.com/hci/contact/index.asp is the closest I found,
price unknown.

http://www.dtsc.ca.gov/SiteCleanup/index.cfm ought to have some sort
of list of approved cleanup companies, but I've not found it.
