I'm kinda new so if this reiterates existing rules let me know.
Perhaps the space could be better organized until NB could be moved to a
larger (cheaper?) location. Perhaps if you have a project that's been
sitting on a shelf for a few months gathering dust, you could find another
home for it. Some of that space could be used for members' bags that sit on
the couch. With the couch free, more people can join in the conversation.
How can we better utilize the space in the shop when it isn't in use? In
essence, how can we better utilize the space period? We might want to look
space usage every six months or so and clean out stuff that is just sitting
around or re-organize existing usage to economize space.

I also feel that the scheduling conflicts are not that conflicting. I've
been in small meetings up stairs while a presentation is discussed down
stairs and have had no problems. Is there more of a problem between project
space and meeting space?

If NB is looking for more members (and more publicity) I recommend having a
demo booth at Maker's Faire. I organized the SWARM (http://orbswarm.com/)
booth last year and we got lots of publicity (the NY Times!), got to meet
people who are interested in the project and educated the public in
interactive robotics. There is no fee but the deadline is Friday.
