[Noisebridge-discuss] [Haschool] More remarks about monads.

I've put up some more notes about monads, focused on Haskell.
Of course, I will cover this material in class; these notes
are as much for my benefit as anyone else's.

The Catsters, on YouTube, have a number of videos on category
theoretic topics; their video on monads is a succinct
introduction to the category theoretic perspective. Please
watch it before tomorrow's class; it's ten minutes and
presents the terminology, notation and an example in a
succinct and completely classical manner. Perhaps it will be
completely baffling; that is not the most unnatural reaction
to one's first encounter with category theory.

We'll give only about twenty minutes of class to the
categorical material (making it your *second* encounter with
category theory!). What's important in this introductory class
is to appreciate the deep relationship between category
theory, type systems and modern functional programming.
