[Noisebridge-discuss] High-speed WISP from monkeybrains.net?

Hey folks,

>From a twitversation with the fine folks at monkeybrains.net:

"We actually can see @noisebridge via our sector antenna on the #kqed
roof. we tried to ask them about WISP before but failed."

I use Monkeybrains as a hosting provider and have been a satisfied
customer for years. Rudy Rucker, the proprietor, is local,
hacker-friendly and active in arty/hacky things like Cyclecide. (If
his name sounds familiar, he's the son of math professor/author Rudy
Rucker Sr.).

Anyway, he has set up KQUED (Mariposa and Bryant) with hella fast WISP
and serves other businesses in the neighborhood from there (including
one on our block: http://twitpic.com/m63rt)

I'm wondering if it's worth talking to him (info at monkeybrains.net)
about a secondary and/or main net connection for us: I suspect the
rates would be very competitive. I don't know who in particular makes
these decisions at NB, or what we have now, but I think it would be
splendid to talk to Monkeybrains and if it makes sense to steer some
business their way.

Cheers,

Jon
