[Noisebridge-discuss] Deep Crack and the tone of the discussion

I think that there was more understanding and equanimity than in
certain other discussions. It seems like often, and Jim put this very
well, people combine their arguments with their frustrations and the
result is snide comments and blanket rejections and other fun things
that make for high-drama discussions.
I tend to find it's useful to make statements about issues as
neutrally as possible, and to make emotional statements separately,
and own them as such.
Also, some people just can't resist waving their dicks and that's
aggravating as all hell. Erm. I FEEL that some people... Right.
Resist! Every time someone refutes a proposal with a vague reference
to past drama, a snotty implication of hypocrisy, and a counter
argument that boils down to fallacy by ignoratio elenchi, I die a
little inside. But I guess that every time they do, I get to grumble
to myself in logic jargon, so I end up sticking around.
