[Noisebridge-discuss] neuroscience experiment subjects wanted

I'm working on a couple of studies at UC Berkeley and we need some EEG
subjects. Following are details on that. But in general, if you're
interested in participating in neuroscience experiments, please email
me even if you don't fit the bill for this study. I figure that as
tempting as you all are as a large body of science-friendly people, I
should try to avoid scamming on the nb-discuss list for subjects too
often. We also have fMRI and TMS studies (several noisebridgers have
done that) that I sometimes scout for. And in particular if you're up
for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, please mention it. For some
reason we have trouble finding subjects. It's like people are scared
of having their brains zapped by a giant magnet or something. Beats
me.

So in general, we pay you. Sometimes better than others. For these
two EEG studies, it's $10/hr. The session takes a couple hours
including cleanup. We'll be using an electrode cap like the one at
noisebridge. We can't give you pretty photos of your brain like the
MRI studies, but we can let you look at the EEG output live. It's
pretty cool. One study is auditory, the other is a visual task. I
need:

-People under 30, right handed, preferably who can come in next week.
-A couple men, late 40's or early 50s, right or left handed

And more specialized (these ones we'll pay $20/hr):
-Ambidextrous male, late 20's or very early 30's, 13-18 years of
education (i.e. some college, but little graduate schooling)
-Left-handed woman, late 50's or very early 60's, college graduate
-Right-handed male, very late 50s or early 60s, high school graduate,
some college but no grad school. Bonus points if you're a musician.

Feel free to pass this on judiciously if you know someone, but don't
repost it publicly. Thanks guys! Looking forward to getting to know
the insides of more NB skulls. Non-invasively, of course.

-Kelly
