So, I had an acquaintance look into taking one of these old aircraft carriers back in the day. Let me just say it was  a bad idea. The money needed to ensure the carrier no longer pollutes like a disintegrating pile of lead is ridiculous. Not to mention the slip fees for docking the thing. And because it's been mothballed, you're not likely to be able to drive it out to sea and anchor it.

While this is a super cool opportunity, it's really not feasible. It's kinda like when you see a factory for sale in Alaska for $1. Sure it's cheap, but the second you buy it you're liable for the 20,000 environmental code violations within the factory/
