FWIW: I had Sonic for a few years. I've never had Comcast.

Sonic:
* repeatedly told various bogus copyright litigants to piss off
without a subpoena, and just forwarded me their emails demanding my
subscriber info (I run a Tor node, so this happens regularly)
* has actually competent CSRs, both technically and customer-serivce-ly
* had decent speed (can't really testify on that - check
dslreports.com for speed comparisons)
* wasn't evil
