Turns out I've got a Yagi that should work.  It's almost 2 feet long,
a Buffalo Airstation outdoor model.

Only problem is I'll be hitting an antenna some distance in front of us.

Unless I can mount patch antennas under the wing, and figure out how
to run cable out to it.  Technically we can open the doors on that one
in flight, but it might be noisy.
