FWIW just from a safety perspective - I've never done welding so I
can't comment on that - you should expect people to do it wrong. And
y'know, not risk going up in flames 'cause someone's a n00b welder.
:-P

I don't know if Rich's concerns are empirically warranted (i.e.
whether the setup is safe as is) but it's something to consider for
those who do.
