a) Shannon says that shelves are for anyone who wants 'em, not just members.
b) Other people say shelves are only for members

Some of you may care which should™ be the case. If you care*, discuss.

Also:
c) there isn't really any spare shelf space currently for personal
storage use. Additional shelving would be nice to have. There's lots
of free wall space.
