[Noisebridge-discuss] Ephemerisle DIY Workshops

Hey all,

As part of the effort to help people gear up for Ephemerisle (an
all-on-boats-and-platforms floating festival in the Sacramento River
Delta, July 22nd-25th this year) I've organized with a couple of maker
types for them to hold workshops at Tinkers in Berkeley (here's
Tinkers Workshop's rather unassuming and less-than-useful webpage:

There are 6 days of workshops coming up, the earliest of which is May
20th at 6:30pm.  We made sure to plan around Maker Faire.  Here's the
lineup and what it's all about:

May 20th (6:30pm): Alternative Energy Workshop -- Build your own
high-power solar generator so you can totally ditch the diesel this
year.  Kits available for purchase.

May 27th (7pm): Ephemerisle DIY Workshop Intro session @ Noisebridge (see below)

June 12th-13th (10am):  Build Your Own Floating Platform -- we
guarantee you can build something that floats in one weekend.  Build a
kit or we help you build your plans.

June 26th (2pm): Alternative Energy Workshop

June 26th-27th (10am) - Build Your Own Floating Platform

July 22nd-25th - Ephemerisle 2010 !!!   http://ephemerisle.org


We'd like to do a "DIY Workshop intro" session to introduce everyone
to what the platform building and alt energy workshops are about, as
well.

Would anyone object to us holding such a session at Noisebridge on
Saturday, May 27th, between 7pm and 9pm?

This is of course a totally open event.  Depending on attendance and
on what's happening in the space that day we'll either hold it in
Turing (for whiteboardy goodness) or around the couches if it's a big
group.  Right now, based on guestimates of interest, it looks like
maybe 8-10 non-Noisebridge attendees would come.

And if cool, could someone with admin access put this on the
Unofficial Noisebridge Google Calendar?
