You have root on the routers, just log in and run tcpdump :)

Of course, since all the hosts are on the same LAN/subnet, everyone's
still susceptible to ARP spoofing.

Neato! There's definitely some more computers with many-head SATA disk
bays.

If only electricity wasn't so expensive. Perhaps a remotely-switched
power strip that'll turn off the cluster when it's not in use?
