Next Sunday morning at 11AM, I'll be at noisebridge with Surface Mount
Soldering Merit Badge kits, teaching people how to solder surface
mount components. The kit is really easy, and goes together quickly.
At the end, you'll have a little lapel pin that blinks, showing off
your mad SMD skills. There aren't a whole lot of spots for this first
run through, so you might want to reserve a spot if you're really
excited about doing this.

More info about the kit:

I'll have a handful of "Complete kits," a SMD Badge kit, along with
loupes and tweezers for you to take home, for $20, and a bunch of the
badge kits alone for $10 each. There is no charge for the class, but
I'd really appreciate it if you could donate a bit to Noisebridge, to
help cover costs of electricity, solder, and rent ($5 suggested)
