[Noisebridge-discuss] Type K thermocouples and/or wire

i thought of this already, my plan is to rectify the primary of the
transformer of a laptop adaptor, which could be over 200v. a radio shack
30w iron could take 50w no problem if its not over temperature.
this is where the thermocouple comes in, although a platinum sensor like
some wellers would be nice because it acts like a simple thermistor.
i just bought a PID controeler for a type-K thermocouple before i realized
that my new weller iron uses a platinum thermistor, so... we could put it
on the toaster if i had a thermocouple.
i also have this old Omega tpye-K heater controller with no docs, i usedit
with this iron that had a type-K that died. i dunno. its hard to find
docs for these thermocouple controllers sometimes.
right now i am making a power supply for my weller EC3001 i think, out of
an old ibook adaptor.. ill instructable it or something.
