[Noisebridge-discuss] BugLabs "BUGbundle" donated. (electronics hardware prototyping swiss army knife)

I'm going to be at circuit hacking tonight, and last Monday I brought in
my BUG (buglabs.com) which is an open linux based hardware prototyping
platform. I'm donating it for anyone to use and abuse as they see fit.

It's literally last year's model, but it should be quite usable. It
includes locate, von hippel, motion, and view modules. It has some
programmable buttons and a tripod mount. Using it involves getting the
eclipse plugin and uploading java code to it via usb. I have barely
touched it myself.

The usb port looks standard to me, but unfortunately I can't find my
original connector so you'll have to bring/buy one, and of course a laptop
with eclipse and some java proficiency. There is a supportive BUG
community you can rely on as well.

To give you an example of possible uses, I originally wanted to get into
amateur robotics. I was going to seal it in a boat, give it some servos to
control a sail, and train AI to get from point A to point B using GPS.
Maybe the Spacebridge people would want to send it into the upper
atmosphere?

You're welcome to email me with questions or ask tonight, though like I
said, I really haven't done much with it. It's property of Noisebridge
now.

Travis
