According to a new book by a law professor *Delay, Deny, Defend *the
insurance industry hired the retired general that served as the "drug czar"
for the George Bush 1's
administration. He set up new protocols for the insurance industry to feed
names to law enforcement as "suspected insurance cheats". This greatly
increased the networking between the surveillance state and the insurance
industry. This author noted that the state of Massachusetts was the only
state that would release statistics and noted that of over 23,000 names
turned over, the State prosecuted around 1200 (after investigating) and had
successful prosecutions of between 400 and 500 persons (claimants in
insurance cases)...basically a 2% return for the act of placing thousands of
probably innocent persons names into government data banks. I wish these
hacker groups would focus on getting this info out there and , hopefully,
force investigations into whether these persons were hurt by surreptitious
interviews w their employers, landlords, etc. Insurance companies, for
decades, have interviewed your neighbors, landlords, employers etc. before
deciding how to rate you for insurance, however, it would seem differently
if it is law enforcement being included
