Early morning Sunday December 11, police raided Occupy SF’s small
tent-free camp at 101 Market St and made at least 20 arrests. Coming on
the heels of midweek raids clearing Justin Herman Plaza, and Saturday’s
peaceful march in the name of human rights, it is difficult to believe
the city’s assertions that these raids are justified.

Occupy SF community intends to continue its peaceful, law-abiding
protests regardless of illegal acts of intimidation and arrest. We would
like to remind the members of the SFPD that it is within the terms of
their contracts, within their rights, and part of their duty under
international law to refuse illegal orders.

Occupy SF thanks the people of San Francisco for their continued
solidarity, support, and donations in the face of blatant political
repression. We would like to remind our supporters that there are ways
to come out in solidarity without risking arrest or beatings.
