[Noisebridge-discuss] Theft at Noisebbridge

Its a mailing list not a discussion forum. Hundreds/thousands? of
subscribers have already received this message to their email inboxes. It
would be quite difficult if not impossible to get all of the
noisebridge-discuss subscribes to delete the message from their email
archives. I for one refuse on the general principle of the matter so looks
like its now impossible. Of course under duress I might be forced to delete
my email archives.

You can read the archives for the month of December found here:
https://www.noisebridge.net/pipermail/noisebridge-discuss/2011-December/thread.html

It appears that Google does index the archives. You might be able to
persuade the administrators of the mailman installation to remove the
archived posts. That's not going to stop someone from re-posting an email
from their inbox off on the Internet somewhere of course.

I wouldn't worry about the messages living on within the Internet. I have a
few posts to Usenet from the 90s that make me laugh when I read them now.
Everyone here has experienced human nature.

I'd advise you against posting too much personal information like your
telephone number to the public Internet though. I suppose there are lots of
VoIP systems now and telephone numbers are cheap to come by. Maybe
protecting ones number from spammers and the like is a non-issue these days.
