I need to make a few adjustments (namely buying a cheap backpack to
put it in and slice vents into the sides), but we have a
backpack-mounted vacuum cleaner. (Can vacuum cleaners have overheating
problems?)

It kinda sucks. As in, it's not very powerful. But it seems to mostly
work. It should be fully operational for general use in a couple days.
it works well enough with the knife attachment, so sweeping dust to
the baseboards of the walls first is probably the best way to go about
cleaning the space.
