[Noisebridge-discuss] Missing Green Bike /w Red Grips.

We don't have a rule against desktops, because Noisebridge doesn't
have any rules. We don't have a rule against tossing a desktop into
the scrap fabric bin, because Noisebridge doesn't have any rules.

It's odd that Shannon thinks keeping your desktop at the space should
be discouraged, but that Rachel thinks its okay. They've both been
active and engaged members of Noisebridge for a long time. They, if
anyone, should know what is excellent or unexcellent behavior. But
they don't agree in this case, even though it seems like a fairly
straightforward matter. A lot of discussion will be generated from
this event (and probably labeled "drama"), but no actual decisions one
way or the other will be made, because Noisebridge doesn't have any
rules.

It seems to me that if we had a "don't keep your personal computers in
the space" rule OR a "people are allowed to keep their personal
computers in the space" rule, it would really clear up the confusion
on this issue and prevent a lot of drama. But Noisebridge doesn't have
any rules. And the consensus process (or at least, the way we practice
it) actively discourages people from even bringing up issues to be
decided on. Whether you want to bring "don't keep computers at NB" or
"it's okay to keep computers at NB" up for consensus, someone will
block it.

And people know this. Which is why they don't even bother to bring
anything up for consensus. This is our "radical inclusiveness".

So then some asshole pulls a passive-aggressive stunt like this. It
isn't really all that cynical to call this "do-acracy" in its purest
form. And we can expect this to happen every few months, because
Noisebridge doesn't have any rules.

How many ages hence shall this our lofty scene be acted over, in
states unborn and accents yet unknown?
