[Noisebridge-discuss] Noisebridge Vending Machine Beverage Preferences Poll

To clarify on what Josh is saying....

Patrick, in most cases, what you are saying is totally legitimate and I'm
definitely one to look for legal loopholes and technicalities like that.
However, given current SF politics, it doesn't work here right now.

For a while now, we've been fighting what DNA Lounge has called the War on
Fun <http://www.stopthewaronfun.org/>. We actually did a few positive civil
protests against it, including the Phone
Booth<http://oneletterwonder.com/2010/04/19/the_video_from_call_the_mayor/>incident
last year. It's gotten to the point where a while ago, they cracked
down on The Dark Room, a small movie theatre a block or so from Noisebridge,
which was allowing people to bring in alcohol on a BYOB basis.

Now, to be fair, a lot of these crackdowns were coming from one main source
who has since been reassigned, and I haven't kept up with politics to see if
the winds have changed. Perhaps they are better now, and maybe someone else
on the list is better tuned in than me. But until I hear that, I'm going to
continue to be paranoid and assume that we should keep alcohol and money as
far apart from each other as possible.
