[Noisebridge-discuss] Electricity usage at the space is up UP UP

This was going to be an OMG we're using too many electrons warning
message, because our PG&E bill this month was $755, and that broke our
$600 autopay limit. As it turns out, I had a closer squint at our
bill, and a chunk of that cost was because it's now summer and we're
paying more for our electricity[1].

Nonetheless, it is still quite important to freak a little bit, if
only for the environment.

Our electricity usage has been climbing for some time, and it'd be
good to know why, and how we might lower those costs. This time last
year we were average 38.63kWh a day. Now we are running at 71.16kWh.
[2]

So, turn things off! Add suggestions of things to turn off in a long
thread after this message! Put post-it notes on things, instructing
people to turn things off in a comradely way!

We have two (yes, two!) electricity meters, one of which is showing
more of a growth than the other: if anyone would like to conduct
detective work to see where our electrons are leaking[3], that would
be cool. Jim, are you interested in such things?

[1] The seasonal increase in rates hat accounted for $91 of our
difference from last month's $541.28 ; $25 of it came from having some
extra days in the month.
