i think a metaphor for why the superconductor doesn't want to change position 
is, like trying to rotate a stepper motor whose leads are shorted - any change 
in position relative to the magnetic field would generate current in the 
superconductor, and generating current in a zero-ohm wire is very hard 
(relatively) so it requires the hand to force the change.
