i just installed this.  its FOSS and if you're hardcore you can run it 
without using their website (but you have to configure it for your mail 
server).  Accounts on their website are free and let you get all the info 
you could possibly get, no reason for a pro account. (except waiting less 
than ten minutes for a report)

I activated my device as "missing" and a report came in ten minutes later, 
with a picture of me (i did not notice the webcam light come on even 
though i was looking for it) and a bunch of other info.

of course it put the IP address from which my laptop was connecting to the 
internet, but whatever service they're using to get an actual location 
from that only resolves to downtown oakland, 3.4 miles away.
