Some events this weekend that might be of interest to Noisebridge members:

Thingamajig:

The Music For People & Thingamajigs Festival is an annual event
dedicated to promoting experimental music that incorporates made/found
instruments and alternate tuning systems. Each year, MFP&T invites
artists who design their own musical instruments to join in a festival
of workshops, music making, and performances with the goal of reaching a
large, diverse audience of all ages.

Mechanicrawl

http://longnow.org/events/02011/sep/24/mechanicrawl-02011/

Long Now's Mechanicrawl is this Saturday September 24, 02011 from 10:00
am to 5pm along San Francisco’s North Shore! LaughingSquid has a great
piece on the event by Mikl-em, featureing Geek TV and real Ham radio
transmissions from inside a WWII submarine. Check out mechanicrawl.org
featuring all of our mechanically-inclined partner organizations from
the Exploratorium to the Musee Mecanique.

Spend a delightful day exploring the mechanical marvels along San
Francisco's North Shore. See giant running steam engines,
turn-of-the-century automata, mechanical computers, a wave organ, an 8
foot high mechanical planetarium, vintage steam boats and more... You
can start your crawl at any of the Attractions; map your own route for
the event and spend as much time at each location as you'd like!

Experiencing the SS Jeremiah O’Brian’s giant steam engine running is
worth the price of the ticket! ($15/10) Long Now and Exploratorium
members get free tickets... You can map your crawl prior to embarkation
or on the fly with a smartphone. You can also purchase or reserve your
tickets online, including on the day of the crawl 9/24/11.
