[Noisebridge-discuss] Know GIMP? Know Inkscape? Want to host a class?

I guess I fall in the variation of the latter, being I'm not sure I fully
grasp the concepts behind photo editing... specifically layers, boundaries,
filters, paths & alpha (though I think I sort of got the latter down). I've
read the help pages, but people learn things differently.

For example, say I've never snow skied and wanted to learn how. Some people
might read about it on the internet first, some might want to watch others
first, some might want to learn by someone auditorily telling them how to do
it first, and others might just get on some skies and do it first. Each of
these ways has it's own pluses and minuses and people vary in their
preferences. Ultimately, getting in and just doing it is required, but
learning the basic concepts first can be much more efficient.

In other words, let's not confuse the desire to learn with not having had
the opportunity to learn, have someone knowledgeable nearby when they were
"figuring it out", etc.. I think a short class on the underlying concepts
would be most excellent! :-)
