It is discouraging to good people trying to do good things to have their
stuff disappear or get trashed.

This will discourage good people from doing good things in the space.

Besides discourage there is stress and worry about leaving stuff in progress
which means probably people get demotivated to work on stuff in the space.

Especially stuff where they are starting to get somewhere. So people who are
starting to get somewhere may likely leave.
