[Noisebridge-discuss] Sigh -- I'm not helping with Maker Faires this year.

One cautionary concern:

Companies like boston dynamics, general dynamics, lockheed martin...
etc snap up the bulk of robotics talent in the college pool today.
They have the money, they have cool projects, and kids tend not to be
very good at understanding the opportunities they will have on a
longer term. They also have less of a notion as to what consequences
really are.

Refusing to participate in Maker Faire will do little to produce an
incentive to remove those organizations from Make and STEM initiatives
in general. It will simply deny you a voice, and that will deny
children an incentive to look elsewhere for opportunity when the time
comes for them to choose their path in life.

That's my concern. When looking at it from a perspective that is NOT my own.
