[Noisebridge-discuss] Door proposal that blends the best of electronic + the standard NB keys

Hi.
Based on the work I'm doing to allow people to access ATX hackerspace
in Austin from Noisebridge for SxSW, I'd like to propose a solution
that blends the ubiquity of the keys, with a very focused
second-factor authentication.
I have successfully integrated the switch I bought (rotary, uses the
NB keyway and pattern), with the Cerberus-Prox door strike control
system. If _instead_ of an RFID card, I used an industrial numeric
keypad + Key, you would have a fast two-factor and revokable auth
system. The key would serve as a "yeah, there are 3000 of them,
but at least it means you know where Noisebridge is and got a key."
The numeric code acts as a passkey, and you need both to open the
door.
