What I was asking for is easy for someone at *noisebridge*.

You don't need to know how to knit or what the working status of the
machine is in order to help.
I just need the make and model number of the (possibly multiple)
knitting machine(s) in the space.
I suggested making a http://nburl.net and putting the information on
the wiki so that its available for others.

One might have to ask someone else 'how to find the sewing area' or
'what does a knitting machine look like', and I have to say 'that is
left as an exercise for the reader'.
