[Noisebridge-discuss] seeking donation of RFID reader equipment

tl;dr:
buy noisebridge a 900 MHz RFID tag reader; tags are only 8 cents at
mouser and we need to tag all our tools (and people can tag their stuff
too)

I mentioned a while ago that Mouser has RFID tags for 8 cents

and that we need an RFID reader:

I am hoping someone can donate a reader so that we can tag items at
noisebridge to prevent shrinkage of critical infrastructure.

for example, we have no drills. They all walked. We have no basic tools
(it looks like we have tools, but they are just piles of the least-useful
ones) in the shop.

I don't think it makes sense to get another drill until we have a way to
protect it from being stolen again.

we will have lots of fun coding stuff to decide what to do when tags are
detected in the doorway area; announcing in booming Consenso voice that a
particular item is in the doorway, taking a flash photo of the theif, etc..
