Mik, yeah, your own criteria. If someone asks to be let in, and you
choose to let them in, this means you found them acceptable by whatever
criteria you think is good. If you don't think they are appropriate for
NB, don't let them in. Someone else may have a different opinion, and
then the other person may choose to let them in. This does in fact end
up as people in the space applying "their own criteria in an arbitrary
manner". It's an indication that the system is working. Excessive
consistency is an indication that it's not.
Seriously there is *NO* official policy of any kind at NB. "Be
Excellent" is the only guideline. Use your own judgment, consider other
people's points of view, apply your brain. Be the kind of person you
want everyone else to be. This is not how the world in general works,
true; but shouldn't it?
