hi al and everyone,
i would just like to suggest that things from the member shelf floor at least get moved to the hacker shelves before going into e-waste.  its hard to see so much good material get thrown out, though i cant complain too much since i havent stepped up to help sort and i know thats good work some people are doing.  i will say for my part that there was a 1000w inverter thats been on the floor forever i moved onto my shelf (its huge, kinda taking over) because that thing is way too nice to be e-waste.  theres also a great flatscreen tv on the floor i took a stab at repairing this week.  its a dell w3000- with a ziplock bag of capacitors and screws next to it.  i fixed the power supply but the logic board is bad- theyre $48 on ebay and while i dont feel like spending that money right now, its a pretty darn good investment for a tv worth a lot more than that.

This is a reminder that stuff on the floor of the member shelves will be moved to the hack shelves/trash on Sunday, January 5th. If you have something on the floor but can't make it to the space, email me and I can set it aside.

If you're free that Sunday, it'd be great if you could volunteer to help clean up that day. This won't be a huge cleaning event like with the e-waste. We'd only need a couple hours to clear out the shelves and I can show people how to use the floor cleaner to clean up the Church and Turing classrooms.

Sunday, January 5th, noon, at the space

Punch and pie - I'll order a pizza or something.
