I don't think this will be the death of food hacking or workshops at
Noisebridge.

Vegan hacker folks, the only regularly scheduled kitchen event at this
time, are also supportive of changes. That event often uses folding tables
in lieu of the island because it is infested with roaches and doesn't work
well when several small groups are doing prep at the same time.

When we had a coffee roasting workshop it was held in a classroom, not the
kitchen, in part because our current setup made it awkward to accommodate
the 30-40 people we were expecting. (As an aside I want to do another one
of these in August!)

I like the idea of having more flexibility about the kitchen's layout and
prep space. I'm sure there will be adjustments to this plan as time goes
on, but there is broad agreement that the current situation is not working
well and after a few weeks of discussion I'm glad to see action to address
this.
