Hi Peeps

At tonight's meeting, I suggested that we give new people an
"orientation". This is maybe not a new idea at NB. Here's an example:

After the meeting, i gave a tour to a new visitor (from Homes Not
Jails). i sprinkled the following comments into the tour:

  * Please don't steal things.
  * Napping here is ok; living here is not.
  * Theft happens, so watch your stuff.
  * Please don't take NB t-shirts without paying for them.
  * Respect the space, clean up after yourself, help take out the trash
    thursday nights.
  * Don't do hostile graffiti or cover other people's art.
  * Volunteer.
  * Go to meetings Tuesday nights.
  * Join the list and discover classes and events by going to
    noisebridge.net.
  * Please don't bring thieves or loud drunken revelers here.
  * Teach a class.

--and a few other tips. This is what i mean by 'orientation'-- things to
mention during their first visit. Are these good tips? What do people
think about making this a standard ritual?

Ciao,
