all the technology is there, you just need to put together the pieces
you want. for me the biggest learning curve with RPi was (and still is)
navigating an obscure linux distribution having grown up with windows
boxes.
A simple program could be made using a usb-sd adapter and a usb-sata
adapter and a script that copies the files over. you can use GPIO pins
to provide a singel copy button, and maybe an LED indicator to show that
the files have copied.

This tutorial might be a good place to start:

good luck!

I'm a programmer and have never worked with hardware before. With a little research it looks like the Raspberry Pi B might be my best bet (2 USB I/Os, Linux and memory for buffer during the data transfer. Would this be the best choice? Anyone with experience manufacturing have an idea what it would vaguely cost to mass produce something like this with embedded linux and 2 USBs? Also, are Raspberry Pi Bs available for purchase at Noisebridge? If not, anywhere in the city I can buy one? Danny
