Probably laser cutting is better.  I know nothing about laser cutting.  
The item is the handle to an old style expresso coffee pot, the kind 
that you put on the stove top.  That is why it has to be a heat 
resistant material.

Is it worthwhile to 3D print something?  Laser cutting is faster :)

The 3D printers use a thermal plastic but low temp thermal plastics that 
wont hold up to heat.
