Making Noisebridge into an “app” rather than a wiki has been discussed before and no one has amassed the appropriate amount of effort or support to make it a reality. I personally believe that the wiki ain’t broke, we don’t need to fix it, and the path forward should simply be to upgrade it to a version of MediaWiki that supports i18n.

I was going to recommend working on translations for the front-end because it's more stable than the typical 'manual info' that get's updated in noisebridge's wiki, but I guess the whole thing is a wiki. Have people discussed making a more solidified 'app' of our landing page?

>> Yes, it is a good use of time. Getting the initial translation will provide for a template, and it is easier to update over time. It will encourage more spanish speakers at the space, and that in turn will help with maintenance.

Unless you have some sort of deep-seated resentment against Google’s free services, I don’t see why Google Translate is such a bad idea for a page with non-colloquial English phrasing.

In specific, I'm thinking about hiring someone to translate our front wiki page, and maybe some supporting docs.... But I think the front page is locked down right now. Anyone know who I should to talk to get such an initiative going?
