Hi Ebi,

Thanks for adding this to the Events page, checking for schedule conflicts, and letting the list know. Usually that’s all you need to do when you’re booking a classroom — it’s totally excellent to host small group events, and you don’t need special permission from anyone if it looks like there’s an opening in the calendar.

This event sounds great by the way! I’m at my dayjob, otherwise I would have been happy to give a quick intro to the space. Hopefully you’ll be able to find a Noisebridge regular when you’re there. If not, feel free to give your own explanation of what Noisebridge is, and tell your students that can come by whenever they like and ask around if they want to learn more.

They should also feel welcome to come and hack on projects in the space during our regular hours, roughly 11am to 10pm every day. I hope you and your students have a great time!

I visited Noisebridge last Tuesday and got an introduction to the space and some of its members via Jeremy Llewellyn. Got to spend some time hacking with him on the new 3d printers in the space too, which was nice. I mentioned informally that I would like to bring some of my students to Noisebridge.

My goal is for students to explore hacking as art production around 3d printing, laser cutting, sewing and more. I could host the event in either the Turing or Church classrooms, whichever is available.
