[Powerstation-discuss] The People's PA

I am well on my way to finishing a project that, for lack of better term, I
am calling "the people's PA" because that's what it is. Imagine:

   - Protest signs with 30watt's of stereo sound, tuned specifically to
vocal range, as to effectively carry speech to a crowd.
   - A wireless network of VOIP devices configured either ad-hoc, to a
secure access point, or via mesh network, so there is no infrastructure to
   set up
   - Battery power (duh)
   - and one VOIP mic device passed around to various speakers

Which equals one, big sound system for Occupy general assemblies, marches,
or ear splitting raves (no bass to speak of.)

What I have are 3 pairs of Blaupunkt *-352 speakers, each with a
T-Amp<https://www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=sonic+imact+&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=sonic+impact+class-t+amp&hl=en&client=ubuntu&hs=GP2&sa=N&channel=fs&tbs=p_ord:p&tbm=shop&ei=jaXwTs-0IYnniAKX4_CeDg&ved=0CAoQuw0oAQ&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.,cf.osb&fp=2de55b0a1ffbc1be&biw=1272&bih=589>,
and the idea is to power them with a 12v source (SLA) and plug them in to
an 802.11 VOIP device (presently Android Phones running Team Speak, but any
better solution that does not rely on a connection to a phone carrier is
desired)

These are 30 watt, stereo speaker sets, and the enclosures I have built
(out of ABS sewage pipe...no...not recycled, smart ass) are tuned for vocal
ranges.

Presently, what I need are Android phones (or alternatives) a laptop to act
as a teamspeak-server/wireless-access-point (or something peer to peer
which does not require connectivity over carrier), SLA batteries (I have
old ones for recycling credit) and, of course, partners in crime.

Please discuss solutions to these requests. Mean while, enjoy pictures of
the actual devices:
