our topology: linksys set to 192.168.173.1 serving
192.168.173.0 ; two 1U boxes with static IPs
192.168.173.{20,44} ; two switches in the turing
classroom that let computers in turing join the
192.168.173.0 LAN.
we want to connect the linksys uplink to 172.30.0.0
and have it get a dhcp assigned address on the
172.30.0.0 LAN and thereby give each of the 1U boxes
access to the internet so's to download packages (rpms
for one box and dpkgs for the other).
the purpose of the linksys and its ip address (and
1U boxes) is to provide an isolated LAN that lets
people who want to learn linux sys adm stuff make
mistakes without screwing the NB LAN.
