[Rack] Building some new electronics to open the gate?

One think I've noticed is that the door does open (or is
unlocked_but_not_ajar) downstairs, but I don't hear the strike
buzzing. This doesn't speak to other people's tests, but maybe if it's
quieter than previously people don't realise the door is being buzzed
open?
