It was a lot more jankier when he installed it than it is now. For the
longest time we literally had the DSL modem hanging off of the cord
coming inside through the window. I went through and attached a keystone
and box to the end then ran another run over to where the wall of tubes
was and plugged in the modem there.

If we're still using the same DSL plan as a year or two ago, I'm
assuming we're still using the same Motorola modem. If so I've got a
cheapo d-link poe injector and extractor kit we can use to setup the
modem downstairs if there's no power down there (also gives us the
ability to power cycle it from up stairs).

As much as I love Monkeybrains for fire house internet service, from
past experiences I would not recommend depending on them for things you
would want to run on static ip addresses. Especially since I believe
we're already getting a discount rate from them. Also I like Sonic and
think they deserve our money.

I just tweeted at @dane to see if Sonic does any nonprofit discounts and
if maybe he'd like to speak at 5 Minutes of Fame about how awesome Sonic
is regarding user privacy.

Casey: Were you thinking of doing the run down the rear stairs?
