I would be extremely happy if that room was considered storage again and
not "the network closer" or "where people go to unplug things when their
computer stops talking to the internet". I also also be happy if the
door was removed, but that's merely a dream.

Moving the rack to be wall mounted in that room or moving it to a wall
outside would help to free up a lot of space in there.
