seems to me the wind is constant from the west,
over the roof, to the east, with varying intensity,
of course (but rarely if ever from the east to the
west). that means we have air pressure trying to
get into the west windows along with a low pressure
area outside of the east windows (the wind coming
over the roof tries to suck air up as it passes
over the alleyway in back (east).
that might be sufficient to air out the room in
all but the exceptional cases, and if so, we should
consider if we can deal wtih the likely exceptions
with a large portable fan or something else.
one issue is electricity: our space has 250 Amps
available, we can figure about 400 Amps under the
assumption that we don't use everything
simultaneously. every powerful device (e.g. the
cooktop and oven) reduces the possibilities for
using other devices. we probably have enough power,
but it would be prudent to get real numbers and
think out our power needs in more detail than we
have so far (in fairness, it takes time to think of
all possibilities and their trade offs).
